A Brief History of Gretna, Louisiana

Westbank Spanish Company Organized in 2011

Under the leadership of district pastor, Juan Chavez, some of the members from the New Orleans and Metairie Spanish churches started a new group in Marrero on October 4, 2008. This group grew and was organized as the Westbank Spanish company on January 29, 2011, with 65 charter members (Newsletter, 2011).

A New Church

After months of dealing with city officers to receive the appropriate permits, construction began to build a sanctuary and refurbish an existing building in Gretna as a fellowship hall and classrooms (Newsletter, 2015).
