A Brief History of Mountain View, Arkansas
Mountain View Church Organized in 1975

For several years a group in Mountain View met in the basement of Elder and Mrs. Ernest A. Lemon’s home. Though retired, the Lemons were very much responsible for the establishment of this church in a dark county.* This group was organized as a company on July 6, 1968, with nineteen members (Minutes, 1968). Construction began on a church in Mountain View in 1973. By the end of July the foundation and some of the framework was up as the project continued (Record, 1973). The church was both dedicated and organized on Sabbath, May 18, 1975. The new church of fifty-three charter members had a nice sanctuary seating 175 (Leach, 1975).

*A dark county was an area where no active Adventist work was being done.
